The Central Bank of the Philippines announced it will issue a PHP 10 ASEAN coin nationwide in January 2026 to commemorate the Philippines’ role as ASEAN Chair in 2026. The coin will circulate as legal tender alongside existing PHP 10 coins from the BSP Coin Series and the New Generation Currency Coin Series and can be used for daily transactions at face value. To support issuance and public acceptance, the central bank instructed all banks to promote the PHP 10 ASEAN coin on their platforms, including social media pages, automated teller machine screens and websites, using BSP-prescribed art cards. English and Filipino versions of the campaign materials are provided, with high-resolution electronic copies available for download from the BSP website.
