Blocking activity by providers is underway and, for technical reasons, may take several days to take effect. The cessation order is published in IVASS’s “Defend ourselves from scams” section, bringing the total number of websites subject to such orders to 263 since IVASS began exercising its blocking power in November 2023. IVASS also reiterated consumer warnings to exercise caution when evaluating insurance offers via the internet, phone, or instant messaging, particularly short-term motor third-party liability policies, and to verify before paying any premium that quotes and contracts relate to duly authorised insurers and intermediaries by consulting IVASS’s online registers and lists, including the Single Register of Insurance Intermediaries (RUI).
