The euro remained dominant at EUR 369.5 million, representing 74.6% of total turnover, followed by the US dollar at EUR 68.2 million or 12.7% and other currencies at EUR 50.7 million or 10.7%. Total turnover decreased 2.6% versus the previous month as purchases fell 6.2% while sales increased 13.5%, and it was 4.4% lower than in August 2024 with purchases down 5.9% and sales up 1.8%. Figures are reported in euro equivalents using monthly average official exchange rates, and the central bank notes the dataset is published monthly by the last day of the month following the reporting period.
