The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed four new members to fill vacancies on its Investor Advisory Committee, bringing the committee to 13 members. Three appointees will serve four-year terms, while one member, John Liu, will serve as the designated representative of the interests of senior citizens. The new members are Patrick Daugherty of Foley & Lardner, John Liu, Sheldon L. Ray Jr., formerly of Raymond James & Associates, and Adriana Z. Robertson of the University of Chicago Law School. The committee, established under Section 39 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, advises the Commission on regulatory priorities and initiatives related to investor protection and the integrity of U.S. securities markets. The SEC expects to issue another notice seeking additional candidates for committee service in late 2026 or early 2027.
