The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) announced that the Philippines, through the Department of Finance and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, will chair the 13th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and related meetings from April 7 to 10, 2026. The meetings will be conducted virtually to optimize resources and sustain ASEAN engagements amid evolving global developments, including the situation in the Middle East. The agenda centres on strengthening regional financial cooperation to support resilient growth, expand access to finance, and mobilize investment for infrastructure and the climate transition, aligned with the Philippine chairship theme “Navigating Our Future, Together”. Priority areas include capital markets development, sustainable finance, and regional payments connectivity, alongside cooperation on taxation, customs, treasury operations, and banking systems. Participants will also review progress under the Roadmap for ASEAN Monetary and Financial Integration and initiatives linked to the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026–2030. Related activities span finance and central bank deputies’ meetings, an ASEAN+3 deputies’ meeting, the 4th SEADRIF Council of Members Meeting, engagements with business councils and with the US and Australian Treasuries, the 30th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting, the 22nd ASEAN Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and a Financial CEOs’ session, and a meeting with the IMF, World Bank and Asian Development Bank ahead of the AFMGM.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations announced that the Philippines, through the Department of Finance and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, will chair the 13th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting and related meetings, to be held virtually from April 7 to 10, 2026. Discussions will focus on regional financial cooperation to support resilient growth, sustainable finance, capital markets development, regional payments connectivity, and review of the Roadmap for ASEAN Monetary and Financial Integration and the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026–2030.
