The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) and Switzerland’s Federal Statistical Office have launched a linking initiative that integrates official Swiss business registry data into Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) records by embedding a URL in each LEI that connects directly to the Swiss UID register. The embedded link is intended to give users immediate access to verified company information, removing the need for manual registry searches and translations and streamlining global due diligence processes such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Supplier (KYS). The partners also highlight improved international visibility for Swiss small and medium-sized enterprises, which account for more than 99% of Swiss businesses, and position the initiative as reinforcing the LEI system’s role as a trusted source of verifiable entity identity.
