Burundi's Ministry of Finance and National Planning published an update on a two-day strategic retreat that brought together senior managers and leaders of supervised bodies to align sector priorities and harmonise action plans, with the aim of producing a clear five-year roadmap built on specific, measurable objectives to steer medium-term public action. Discussions centred on accelerating reforms in domestic resource mobilisation, modernising public financial management and expanding the digitalisation of services, with the work positioned against Vision Burundi 2040–2060 and the macroeconomic stabilisation programme. The release also outlined the ministry’s organisational set-up through four directorates general covering resource mobilisation, public debt and state treasury management; budget and accounting management; management and safeguarding of state assets; and the digital economy, alongside supervised institutions including the Burundi Revenue Office (OBR), the Insurance Regulation and Control Agency (ARCA), the Capital Markets Regulatory Authority (ARMC) and the National Financial Intelligence Unit (CNRF).
