Ida Mercanti, Deputy Head of the Bank of Italy’s Banking and Financial Supervision Department, held an informal hearing before the Chamber of Deputies’ VI (Finance) Committee as part of its examination of a unified text of bills (C. 1091 Romano and C. 1240 Bagnai) introducing a new Article 1857-bis in the Civil Code and amending Article 33 of the Consumer Code on banks’ obligation to contract and their withdrawal from current account relationships.
