The Central Bank of Egypt published updated remittance figures showing a sharp year-on-year increase in transfers from Egyptians working abroad during July/March 2024/2025. Remittances rose by 82.7% year on year to about USD 26.4 billion, compared with around USD 14.4 billion. For January/March 2024/2025, remittances increased by 86.6% year on year to around USD 9.4 billion from about USD 5.0 billion, while March 2025 remittances rose by 63.7% year on year to approximately USD 3.4 billion compared with around USD 2.1 billion.
