The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved recommendations to introduce unified API standards for the country’s banking and payment services, including an API standard for payment initiation and open APIs for exchanging and accessing information related to banking and payment services. The standards have been published on the central bank’s website under the payment system development section. As part of implementation, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, with support from the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, held a practical workshop for payment system participants on applying the standards and selecting use cases for piloting to support the development of fintech services.
