The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported a series of bilateral meetings held during the IMF and World Bank Group Spring Meetings with Crown Agents Bank, Numisma Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, focused on strengthening access to international financial services and cross-border payments infrastructure. A cooperation agreement was signed with Numisma Bank to use modern banking service mechanisms. Engagement with Crown Agents Bank on 13 April covered opening correspondent accounts, developing cash management services and reinforcing cross-border payments infrastructure. Talks with Numisma Bank on 16 April examined cooperation to improve access to international services and the infrastructure for transporting cash currency, with the National Bank highlighting Numisma’s direct access to the US Federal Reserve System in the context of foreign-exchange operations. A 17 April meeting with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reviewed the existing correspondent relationship in place since 1998 and prospects for further cooperation, including support for international financial operations, government payments and management of international reserves.
