National Bank of Moldova Governor Anca Dragu delivered remarks at the international “Economic Trends 2025” conference in Bucharest, focusing on Moldova’s inflation outlook and recent steps to modernise the country’s payments ecosystem, alongside initiatives to support women’s participation in economic leadership. Dragu said forecasts point to inflation gradually returning to the target range toward the end of the year. She highlighted Moldova’s recent integration into the SEPA payments area to support faster, lower-cost transfers between Moldova and Europe, and noted the adoption of the MIA instant payments system launched a year ago, which she said is now used by around one in three banked people in Moldova. The speech also referenced the recently launched “FinanciarELE – community of female leadership” project, which aims to develop women’s financial and leadership skills through education, mentoring and professional support.
