The Hong Kong Monetary Authority reported that Hong Kong’s official foreign currency reserve assets stood at USD 433.0 billion at the end of September 2026, down from USD 442.8 billion at the end of August. The reserves represented more than five times the currency in circulation and about 35% of Hong Kong dollar M3. There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of either September or August 2026. The authority also published its monthly release calendar for foreign currency reserve assets for 2027, with the December 2027 figures scheduled for release on Jan. 7, 2028.
