The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario has launched a pilot Point-of-Sale program that would allow consumers to buy auto insurance directly at a dealership from a licensed agent or broker when they buy or lease a vehicle. The pilot will run through a Test and Learn Environment (TLE) with safeguards intended to ensure consumers are fully informed and protected during the test period. A webinar on 14 January 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET will outline how to participate in the TLE pilot and the application process. It will cover the scope and duration of the TLE, who is eligible to apply, and FSRA’s expectations for applicants.
