The Securities Superintendency of the Central Bank of Paraguay has expanded the scope of the Agent Registration Tool to streamline the registration of securities instruments. From April 3, 2025, Collective Investment Funds, including mutual funds and investment funds, and book-entry shares issued by publicly held companies must be registered exclusively through the digital platform. The move adds a new phase to a system that had already been extended to debt securities issued under a Global Issuance Program, bonds issued by financial entities and subordinated bonds of financial entities. The tool is also used for the registration of securities advisers, securities market operators and issuing companies, with the Central Bank indicating that the digital shift does not change the underlying regulatory requirements.
