The Bank of England has issued a policy statement confirming that it will implement, as consulted, the partial revocation of COREP13 resolution reporting requirements by deleting six templates from the UK technical standards framework. The change applies to institutions and UK parent undertakings that submit annual COREP13 returns and is intended to reduce reporting burden while preserving the information the Bank needs as the UK resolution authority. The deleted templates cover firms’ liability structure, own funds requirements, intragroup financial interconnections, major liability counterparties, off-balance sheet major counterparties and deposit insurance information. The changes take effect on 1 April 2026, with HM Treasury having approved the partial revocation through a standards instrument. Because of temporary systems limitations, the templates may remain in RegData for a period after revocation, and firms are asked to submit negative filing indicators for those templates until they are removed. The Bank said it will continue to obtain essential information through existing channels, including its Resolvability Assessment Framework, the Prudential Regulation Authority’s revised MREL reporting templates proposed in CP15/25, and ad hoc information-gathering powers where needed. Six consultation responses were received and all supported the proposals. The Bank also said it will consider respondents’ suggestions on other COREP13 templates as part of its wider review of the remaining templates and possible changes to resolution pack content and other resolution information requirements.
