The National Bank of Serbia issued a public warning after receiving information that a company advertising on Facebook under the name Imperial d.o.o. is not authorised to grant loans, and urged citizens not to borrow from it. The bank highlighted that the company is offering loans to employees and unemployed individuals in amounts of EUR 1,000 to EUR 50,000 “only with an ID card”, despite not holding a licence from the National Bank of Serbia and therefore not being subject to its supervision. It cautioned that borrowing from unlicensed providers carries a significant risk of abuse and may leave borrowers unable to protect their rights and interests, and called on citizens to take loans only from legally authorised institutions and to report suspected illegal lending activity to the Ministry of the Interior.
