The ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) issued an alert to the financial services community and the public regarding false and misleading claims made by an entity or purported entity named Trade World FX, trading as Trade FX, via the website tradeworldfx.com. The FSRA said the website purports to offer a trading platform providing access to FX currency pairs, commodities, stocks, indices, futures, bonds and cryptocurrencies, and falsely claims to maintain a branch office in ADGM. The advertised services would constitute Regulated Activities in ADGM, which may only be carried out by firms authorised by the FSRA. Trade World FX is not, and has never been, licensed by the FSRA or granted Financial Services Permission to conduct any Regulated Activity in or from ADGM, and is not incorporated in ADGM or licensed to undertake commercial activities there. The FSRA advised investors to verify a firm’s authorisation status via the FSRA Public Register and, where incorporation or registration in ADGM is claimed, to check the ADGM Registration Authority’s Public Register.
