The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic held the CYBERFINANCE-2026 forum as part of its strategy to strengthen the financial sector’s cyber resilience and reduce digital fraud risks. The main outcome was the creation of a cooperation platform linking the central bank, commercial banks, the information technology sector and specialized universities to address cyber threats arising from rapid digitalization. More than 130 participants discussed social engineering, phishing and the protection of household savings. The program combined policy and operational elements. Experts examined the development of corporate incident-monitoring systems, stronger interagency coordination and measures to protect the public from financial scams, while a parallel cyber exercise zone hosted team competitions for young specialists and students based on responding to real cyberattacks. The practical track was also used to identify potential candidates for the banking sector’s talent reserve.
