The goods trade surplus widened by USD 15.50 billion to USD 52.76 billion as strong demand for emerging technology applications supported export growth. The services deficit narrowed to USD 2.53 billion, while the primary income surplus increased to USD 9.71 billion. Within the financial account, other investment produced the largest net asset increase at USD 49.35 billion, mainly due to higher trade credit extended by the private sector. For the first half of 2026, the current account surplus totaled USD 121.03 billion and the financial account recorded a net asset increase of USD 118.12 billion. Reserve assets decreased by USD 3.87 billion over the period. The next balance-of-payments release is scheduled for Nov. 20, 2026.
