The European Central Bank published its latest weekly balance sheet, showing total assets of EUR 5,970,516 million, down EUR 12,500 million from the previous week. The main asset-side moves were a EUR 11,342 million decline in securities of euro area residents denominated in euro, including a EUR 12,179 million fall in securities held for monetary policy purposes, and a EUR 10,215 million decrease in other assets. Other balance sheet changes included a EUR 822 million increase in lending to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations and a EUR 7,023 million rise in other claims on euro area credit institutions denominated in euro. On the liabilities side, banknotes in circulation increased by EUR 2,573 million, while liabilities to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations fell by EUR 1,423 million as current accounts rose by EUR 2,274 million but the deposit facility declined by EUR 3,697 million. Liabilities to non-euro area residents denominated in euro also fell sharply, by EUR 14,577 million.

The European Central Bank's latest weekly balance sheet showed total assets at EUR 5.97 trillion, down EUR 12.5 billion from the previous week. The decline was driven mainly by lower holdings of euro area securities and other assets. On the liabilities side, banknotes in circulation increased while deposit facility balances fell.
