Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defence of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) published consumer complaint statistics for Tabasco covering January to October 2025, reporting 3,628 complaints, a 21.9% decrease versus 2024, with a 57.7% favourability rate for users. The state represented 1.7% of complaints nationwide. Complaints were filed across all 17 municipalities, led by Villahermosa (50.3%), followed by Nacajuca (6.0%) and Comalcalco (5.8%). Most cases were handled through CONDUSEF’s electronic case-management process (76.6%), while 13.6% were processed via REDECO for matters involving debt-collection agencies. The amount claimed totalled MXN 86.3 million (down 21.4%), while recovered amounts reached MXN 20.0 million (up 34.2%). The most-complained-about products were the special credit report, credit card and debit card (49.8% combined), and leading causes were issuance of the special credit report, unrecognised transactions, and disagreements over the taxpayer identification number (RFC) recorded on the report (32.2% combined). By sector, multiple banking accounted for 39.7% of complaints, followed by credit information companies (30.3%) and insurers (14.7%); within multiple banking, 21.9% related to older adults and 45.5% involved possible fraud, mainly unrecognised card spending and unrecognised electronic transfers.
