The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo met senior experts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under an IMF technical assistance engagement to discuss progress on its banking supervision reform, focused on implementing the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP) for banks. Discussions covered developments against the Central Bank’s approved SREP implementation roadmap. The IMF experts, Valter Borges de Araujo Neto and Rita Tam, assessed the progress made on the roadmap activities and indicated readiness to provide further technical and advisory support in the next phases, while also noting the Central Bank’s wider institutional reform agenda aimed at strengthening supervision and financial stability and aligning with European Union regulatory and supervisory standards and practices.
