Ecuador's Superintendency of Banks and the Deposit Insurance Corporation, Liquidity Fund and Private Insurance Fund (COSEDE) signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement to deepen joint work and technical coordination between the two entities. The arrangement sets coordination mechanisms intended to streamline processes, enable timely information sharing, and strengthen institutional responsiveness to challenges in the financial system. The agreement was signed on 7 April 2026. Superintendent of Banks Roberto Romero von Buchwald and COSEDE General Manager Silvana Raquel Salazar Torres framed the cooperation as supporting a more efficient, coordinated approach and reinforcing the financial safety net.
