The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has warned that fraudulent documents purporting to be issued by the agency are circulating. The documents contain false claims about procedures for recovering lost funds, checking transactions involving cryptocurrency exchanges, crypto wallets and bank cards, and confirming the reliability of third parties offering recovery services. The agency does not recover money lost through fraud or other transactions and does not endorse such service providers. Recipients should not transfer money or disclose personal data, card details, SMS codes, passwords or other confidential information in response to these documents. The agency advised anyone asked to pay commissions, insurance contributions or other charges for fund recovery not to make payments and to contact law enforcement. Official information should be verified through the agency’s website and official social media accounts.
