The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority announced the formal launch, by the Finance Minister, of two national strategies intended to deepen insurance sector development between 2025 and 2030. The measures are the National Inclusive Insurance Strategy 2025-2030 and the National Strategy for Research, Innovation and Insurance Market Development 2025-2030, which together are aimed at widening access to insurance and strengthening innovation and market growth. The inclusive insurance strategy focuses on expanding insurance services in priority areas including agriculture, livestock, fisheries, mining and forestry, while supporting broader financial inclusion through insurance. The research, innovation and market development strategy is designed to raise innovation, efficiency and growth across the insurance sector. In presenting the strategies, the authority highlighted scope for research and product development in areas such as takaful.
