The Central Bank of the Republic of China Taiwan has published its third quarter 2026 issuance and auction plan for central bank certificates of deposit, with the main change being a reduction in the monthly auction amount for 364-day certificates to TWD 120 billion from TWD 140 billion effective July 2026. The bank linked the adjustment to recent liquidity conditions in the banking system and banks' asset allocation needs. The monthly auction amount for 2-year certificates remains unchanged. For July 2026, the bank plans to auction 364-day certificates on July 3 for issuance on July 6 and 2-year certificates on July 17 for issuance on July 20, with offering amounts of TWD 120 billion and TWD 25 billion respectively. It also set auction and issue dates for August and September 2026, while noting that the information remains subject to change and that any modifications will be announced separately. Auctions will continue to use a multiple-rate format, eligible counterparties remain banks, credit cooperatives, bills finance companies and Chunghwa Post Co. Ltd., and each bidder's allocation is capped at 30% of the total amount offered in each auction. The bank said it will re-announce the relevant auction information through its open market operations network system at 8:45 a.m. on each auction date. Fourth quarter 2026 certificate of deposit auction information is tentatively scheduled for release on September 24, 2026.
