The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo announced that its Internal Audit Function has completed an external quality reassessment and received a "Generally Conforms" rating under the 2017 International Professional Practices Framework for internal auditing. The bank described this as the highest level of conformity available under those standards, providing independent international confirmation that the function operates in line with professional requirements, international standards and internal audit best practices. The reassessment was carried out by an external review team from De Nederlandsche Bank, the central bank of the Netherlands, and followed a 2023 external quality assessment. The result reflects progress in addressing recommendations from the earlier review, including measures to strengthen function governance, the quality assurance and improvement system, audit methodology and mechanisms for monitoring implementation of recommendations.
