The National Bank of Moldova said Gov. Anca Dragu took part in the Movers & Shakers 2026 gala, where the official yearbook was launched with her contribution, titled National Bank of Moldova: thirty-five years of resilience. In the article, tied to the central bank's 35th anniversary, she presents the bank's credibility as the result of decisions taken under pressure, consistent reform, prudent supervision and transparent communication with markets and the public. The contribution traces the National Bank of Moldova's development from the country's independence and the introduction of the Moldovan leu to what it describes as the current phase of banking sector consolidation, payments infrastructure modernization and closer alignment with European standards. It highlights the transformation of Moldova's banking sector into a solid, well-capitalized system that is increasingly connected to the European financial space, and points to Moldova's accession to SEPA and the development of the MIA instant payments system as projects with direct effects for citizens and businesses through lower costs and simpler payments.
