Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Pension Funds Administrators announced the 2026 edition of World Savings Week, marking 10 years of the country’s flagship financial education campaign linked to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s global initiative. The programme will run from 16 to 22 March under the theme "Let's talk plainly about money", encouraging families and communities to discuss savings, credit, risks and investment, with a particular focus on young people beginning to engage with the financial system. Over the past decade, the campaign has expanded from core savings and personal finance topics to include digitalisation, cybersecurity, data protection and managing risks in digital environments. It now convenes more than 70 partners across the public and private sectors, academia and civil society, delivering more than 1,000 activities annually nationwide; the 2026 schedule combines in-person and virtual events such as fairs, talks, concerts, contests, museum visits, races and online courses, including a "Savings Run" on 22 March in partnership with the District Municipality of Miraflores, open to participants aged 14 and over and accompanied by an on-site financial education fair from 09:00 to 11:30.
