The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced a new application window for its special regulatory regime, giving firms another opportunity to test innovative financial products in a limited environment under central bank supervision. The next intake for this regulatory sandbox will begin on 25 June 2026 and run until 25 August 2026. The sandbox forms part of the 2024 to 2026 Financial Sector Development Strategy and is aimed at supporting financial innovation, digital financial services and the use of new technologies. Products that meet the regime’s eligibility criteria will be tested under a contract with the central bank. Pilot projects selected in earlier application rounds are still under way and cover payment services, capital markets and virtual asset related financial solutions.
