The State Bank of Vietnam announced the Governor’s decision appointing Nguyen Thi Dung, previously Acting Director, as Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Region 6 with effect from 13 January 2026. Region 6 covers an area with 148 bank branches, 656 level 2 branches and affiliated transaction offices, and 99 people’s credit funds, and the Governor asked the new Director to build on existing results, further innovate in professional work, and regularly report results to local leaders. Nguyen Thi Dung stated priorities including implementing monetary policy, managing the safety and efficiency of banking activities in the area, directing credit flows to production and business and other growth drivers, supporting businesses and individuals’ access to capital, and strengthening digital transformation; he has 31 years of experience in the banking sector and previously served as Director of the SBV Hai Phong City Branch.
