Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Finance held an information meeting in Bishkek on state subsidized loans for purchasing and installing environmentally friendly, energy efficient heating systems. More than 130 participants received information on borrower eligibility, the application process and permitted uses of the financing under the World Bank-supported Air Quality Improvement in the Kyrgyz Republic project. Loans of up to KGS 1 million are available for up to five years at an annual interest rate of 6%. Financing may cover heat pumps, generators and other equipment powered by clean energy sources, including installation and related costs. The loans are available through Eldik Bank, Aiyl Bank and Bakai Bank.
