The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank hosted a Swift ISO 20022 and Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus training for commercial banks operating in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, aimed at supporting readiness for Swift’s November 2025 deadline to migrate core payment messages to ISO 20022. Delivered at the ECCB’s headquarters in Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis over 20–21 October, the sessions covered ISO 20022 message structure, message flows, and use of key payment message standards being rolled out by Swift. The ECCB highlighted that ISO 20022’s richer, structured data is intended to improve operational efficiency, fraud detection, and payment transparency, supporting faster processing, more accurate compliance, and improved customer service.
