The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission said it convened a systemwide warning education and work advancement meeting focused on establishing and practicing a "correct performance outlook" in regulatory work. The meeting reviewed typical cases of distorted performance incentives and directed the supervisory system to align its work more closely with the core priorities of preventing risks, strengthening regulation and supporting high-quality development. The meeting called for the correct performance outlook to be embedded throughout the regulatory process and across all areas of work. It ordered deeper study and discussion, the use of both positive and negative case examples, tougher identification and rectification of prominent problems, and stricter development of long-term mechanisms. It also called for closing gaps in supervisory rules and improving mechanisms to prevent and correct deviations in performance incentives, while integrating the education campaign with day-to-day financial supervision and main business responsibilities.
