The Superintendency of Banks of Panama participated in the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA) CXVII Board of Directors session, committee meetings and technical meeting in Mexico City, as part of its technical cooperation agenda and efforts to strengthen risk-based supervision. The programme was used to follow up on regional strategic lines covering prudential regulation, digital transformation, comprehensive risk management and the assessment of the sustainability of banks’ business models in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven financial environment. Superintendent Milton Ayón Wong attended alongside Kathy de Guardia, the SBP’s Director of International Affairs and Projects, who participated in the technical sessions and regional coordination discussions.
