The National Bank of Romania announced that, together with the Financial Supervisory Authority and the Romanian Banks Association, it will host the spring semiannual meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development International Network on Financial Education in Bucharest from 5 to 7 May 2026. The programme includes meetings of the OECD/INFE Advisory Committee and Technical Committee and a final-day conference on financial literacy to support security, independence and inclusion. OECD/INFE brings together almost 300 public authorities from more than 130 countries and economies, including central banks, finance ministries, education ministries and financial regulators. Romania is represented in the network by the National Bank of Romania and the Financial Supervisory Authority as full members, while the Romanian Banks Association has been an affiliated member since 2021. INFE support was also used in developing Romania’s National Strategy for Financial Education 2024-2030. More than 200 guests from the economic, financial and academic sectors in 65 countries and Romania have announced their participation in the closing conference. The central bank also linked the event to Romania’s OECD accession efforts and to broader cooperation with OECD member states.
