The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) reported that former financial adviser Anthony Paul Torre has pleaded guilty to three counts of stealing and two counts of fraud linked to the misappropriation of AUD 1,030,000 of client funds. The offences relate to conduct between March 2010 and January 2015. Mr Torre appeared in the District Court of Western Australia on 28 January 2025 and was remanded in custody on 29 January 2025 until 7 February 2025; a sentencing hearing is set for 9 June 2025. The case is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions following an ASIC investigation and referral.
