The Central Bank of Kuwait has launched the Kuwait Dispute Management System (KDMS), a central platform for processing and settling disputes arising from financial transactions between participants in Kuwait’s national payment systems, as part of phase two of the Kuwait National Payments System project it manages and operates. KDMS allows participants to submit, handle and resolve disputes electronically under unified procedures and standards, with a defined timeframe for completing dispute-processing steps. The system operates over the closed, secure CBK-NET virtual private network (VPN) and provides an encrypted environment for exchanging dispute messages, aligned with the ISO 20022 standard for automated, immediate transmission of financial data. The launch follows the rollout of the Kuwait Automated Clearing House (KACH) on 5 January 2026 as the first component of phase two, with other systems to be introduced in future stages, including a wage protection and salary payment system and a national bill payment system.
