The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission issued a notice to registered agents of local companies and the general public requiring companies to update their registered office address and principal place of business details on the VFSC Online Registry, following relocations after the Port Vila earthquake. The notice cites section 17 of the Companies Act No 25 of 2012, which requires every company to maintain a registered office and postal address in Vanuatu, as recorded on the Vanuatu register, and to describe the registered office in enough detail for it to be readily identified. It also notes that the Act gives the Commissioner authority to require a registered company to disclose its registered office for the Commissioner to carry out duties under the Companies Act. To assist the public in locating updated addresses, the Commissioner requested that the updated address information be completed by 31 July 2025.
