The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission, working with the Bank of Thailand and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand, has announced the results of the Master Protect and Wealth Board Game Hackathon 2026. Team Try Two Tiles won first prize of THB 50,000 for its board game prototype, Critter Tradewinds, which is intended to support public learning on risk management, insurance, saving and investment through scenario-based gameplay. The hackathon formed part of a joint financial literacy initiative by the three regulators aimed at using board games as a practical learning tool for younger audiences and the wider public. The competition drew 65 applicant teams, with 20 finalists selected for the July 18-19 hackathon. Judges selected the winning entry based on its balanced treatment of the core topics, originality, accessible game mechanics and suitability for further development into an educational resource. Following the competition, the selected board game prototype will be tested in four regions, covering Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Songkhla and Bangkok. Feedback from users will be used to refine the content, gameplay mechanics and learning format before broader rollout to educational institutions, public agencies and financial education activities.

The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission, the Bank of Thailand and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand named Try Two Tiles the winner of the Master Protect and Wealth Board Game Hackathon 2026, awarding THB 50,000 for its prototype Critter Tradewinds. The project is designed to teach risk management, insurance, saving and investment. The selected prototype will now be piloted in Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Songkhla and Bangkok before wider use in public financial education.
