The National Bank of Serbia published an address by Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković marking the first transaction using a Discover card in Serbia and the start of Discover card acceptance in the country, in cooperation with Discover and Postal Savings Bank. The Governor linked the launch to the National Bank of Serbia’s strategic agreement with Discover signed on 18 January 2022 and to the role of the national payment card scheme, DinaCard. Under the cooperation, Serbian banks can issue DinaCard cards that can be used abroad, while Discover cardholders can now use their cards in Serbia via the DinaCard acquiring network. Postal Savings Bank was presented as the first bank in Serbia to enable acceptance of Discover cards in its merchant acceptance network, expanding the ability of merchants to accept Discover cards issued internationally.
