The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) reported that the Financial Innovation Laboratory (LAB), a forum it co-founded, was again selected by Global Finance Magazine as one of the best financial innovation laboratories worldwide, in the Economic Development Laboratories category. It marks the fourth consecutive year the LAB has received the recognition. The award, part of Global Finance’s Innovators 2025 programme, cited the LAB’s leadership in developing solutions aimed at financial challenges and urgent socio-environmental sustainability needs. The LAB was created in 2017 as a multi-stakeholder forum to discuss innovative approaches to financing sustainable investments in Brazil and was founded by CVM alongside the Brazilian Development Association (ABDE) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). In 2020, the LAB was accepted into the Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) network and selected to join its steering group, with CVM representing the LAB in that group.
