The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority used a radio programme on Radio Mashujaa in Lindi on 21 May 2026 to provide public education on insurance services, compulsory insurance requirements and the authority’s role. The outreach was led by staff from TIRA’s Southern Zone office, which serves Lindi, Mtwara and Ruvuma, as part of its continuing effort to raise public understanding of insurance. The broadcast explained TIRA’s functions and its office network across the country, with a focus on improving access to services. It also covered mandatory insurance under Tanzanian law, including cover for motor vehicles, petroleum, ferries and buildings with large public gatherings. A senior officer from the National Health Insurance Fund joined the programme to explain the implementation of health insurance for all. Listeners called in during the programme to seek clarification on various issues, and officials responded live.
