Bank Indonesia has provided 32.5 tons of humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the East Nusa Tenggara earthquake, including on Palue Island and in Sikka, Ende and Nagekeo regencies. Delivered in three stages with the Natural Disaster Management Board and Indonesian Air Force, the aid included medicines, food, water, hygiene products, tents, camping beds and generators. The central bank is also working to meet banking liquidity needs and maintain access to fit-for-circulation rupiah through cash custodian services and the Sovereign Rupiah Expedition in difficult-to-access areas. It is coordinating with local governments to limit post-disaster inflation pressures by supporting strategic food supplies and price stability, and plans to continue assistance through recovery and community empowerment programs.
