The State Bank of Vietnam marked the consolidation and repositioning of Banking Times at a Hanoi event, with Governor Nguyen Thi Hong setting expectations for the outlet’s role as a core channel for communicating the central bank’s policies. Following an organisational streamlining that has made Banking Times the State Bank of Vietnam’s sole official press organ, the event publicised the Governor’s 9 July 2025 decision to reconstitute the Banking Journal’s editorial board with 20 members. The Governor called for continued innovation in content and format, stronger application of digital technologies to deliver information faster and in more diverse formats, and deeper academic research to inform monetary management and banking activities, citing new sections developed with State Bank of Vietnam departments such as legal advisory, anti-money laundering, and domestic and international financial market coverage. Banking Times also received commendations from the Governor, the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for communications and information activities, including for 2020–2024.
