Inbound passengers must use the Red Channel, while outbound passengers must report to the Customs Service Counter before clearance. The statutory declaration is complete only after customs officers retrieve the online submission and conduct a physical inspection. Declaration is required for New Taiwan dollar cash exceeding NTD 100,000, renminbi cash exceeding RMB 20,000, and foreign currency or bearer securities exceeding the equivalent of USD 10,000. The requirements also cover gold exceeding the equivalent of USD 20,000 and diamonds, jewels, platinum or other valuables carrying money-laundering risk exceeding NTD 500,000.
