The Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission reported year-on-year growth in the assets, net worth and profitability of Taiwan’s 28 foreign bank branches. At the end of June 2026, their total assets rose 8.18% to TWD 4.2103 trillion and net worth increased 11.22% to TWD 168.5 billion. Pre-tax profit for the first half of 2026 climbed 6.71% to TWD 13.922 billion, while the nonperforming loan ratio remained about 0.01%. Foreign bank branches continue to provide corporate lending, trade finance, cross-border services and cash management, while expanding wealth management and services for high-asset customers under Taiwan’s asset management hub policy. The commission will continue monitoring their financial and business development, with a focus on sound financial structures, risk management and asset quality, and will encourage deeper cooperation with domestic institutions across corporate finance, capital markets, wealth management and sustainable finance.
