The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority and insurance sector stakeholders have donated TZS 221 million to Benjamin Mkapa Hospital to help fund bone marrow transplants for children with sickle cell disease and kidney transplants for patients in need. The contribution supports a dedicated hospital fund through which organizations can finance transplant treatment. Benjamin Mkapa Hospital Executive Director Abel Makubi said the money would be used for eligible bone marrow and kidney transplant patients.
