Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), together with DST Inno Lab, the FinTech Association of Brunei Darussalam (FinTech.BN) and Brunei Innovation Lab, organised the first FinTech Hackathon: FinTellect 2025, centred on using artificial intelligence to support more intelligent and safer financial services in Brunei Darussalam. Held from 17 to 19 October 2025 at Anggerek Desa Technology Park, the three-day event brought together more than 30 students from local higher learning institutions for mentoring and development of AI-driven concepts, culminating in final pitch presentations assessed by financial and technology sector judges. At the prize ceremony on 19 October 2025, BDCB Acting Managing Director Hajah Noorrafidah binti Sulaiman delivered a keynote highlighting continued learning, collaboration and digital advancement; the top three solutions were POStah (AI-driven financial insights for micro, small and medium enterprises), AImanah (AI-automated fraud detection for banks) and BeeLanja (a gamified AI-based savings app aimed at youth financial literacy and saving habits).
